Rooms are a little older, but clean, most importantly. They take CLC and offer a decent enough breakfast. There are railroad tracks right next to it, but you can barely notice a train passing by.
Took my grand daughters there this weekend to go to the water park. I booked there for the reason of having a free breakfast to save some money. When I walk in to check in the girl at the desk was with her friend watching tv while he was drinking beer. Just didn't think that made a good first impression. I was then told a higher amount for the room than I booked it for and was told that hotel tax was high but then she took it down to the price I was quoted. Got to our room it was clean but the sheets were all wrinkled up and even the shower curtain was that way. My grand daughters wanted something to drink so went to the machine to find that it was broken. When I asked at the front desk she said oh yeah it's broken but there's a convince store across the street. Then when we go down at 8:30 for breakfast the waffle machine was empty so ended up having to go out for breakfast. Loved the water park but would definitely book a room somewhere else next time.
Location a little off the beaten path. The room and interior were OK but going around back to use the handicap accessible entrance, the lack of landscape maintenance was very obvious: overgrown shrubs, tall, seedy, grass much in need of mowing and the parking lot looked like a dumping area. Obvious lack of management attention. Makes you wonder what else has been neglected and why.
At first glance, the room seemed ok. It is a run down hotel that has some issues. The ceiling looked like it might have some issues, we had small ants crawling around the desk (which I took pics of) that keep multiplying each day that we were there. This morning, they were thick and crawling into my coffee cup. The bed was very hard, the a/c was either hot or cold, couldn't find a happy medium. The breakfast was a joke. There was no batter for waffles, the orange juice was awful, there were 2 pieces of bread, 3 blueberry muffins, and about 5 bagels. There was some boiled eggs, but after everything else, I wasn't going to eat that. There was no milk for cereal and no coffee. This was by far the worse choice hotel that I have ever stayed in!! I stay in choice hotels frequently and have become a platinum member. The clerk at the front desk asked if my stay was good and I told her no. She just looked at me and gave me the receipt. I showed the pics of ants to her and she just asked what room I was in. No mention of the manager or how sorry. Nothing!!! Almost forgot, we were in a no smoking room, but the hallway would make you gag from the cigarette smoke!
We arrived late in the day almost in the morning (5 AM). However the woman who was working the front desk had already closed the hotel for check-ins. Since we checked in online when we arrived we were told we couldn't be checked in even though we had already payed for the hotel. After a solid hour (about 6 AM) she managed to check us in only to tell us that we would need to pay 8 dollars to upgrade our room to have 2 beds because in the process of checking us in she had managed to downgrade our room and then we had to pay to upgrade it even though we had already done so. Finally after getting our room the hotel was hot and humid with no central air conditioning for the hotel itself. The room have personal AC's which are sub par. There is a lack of provided amenities if you don't have any. Above all else was that during the entire check in process the young woman working the front desk had her friend there with her - who did not work at the hotel- playing music. It was extremely rude and agitating in the early hours of the morning. Overall the quality of the hotel is lacking and staff is extremely rude and unhelpful.
